  4. Today is November 10 and it is 8:06 pm. The phase of the moon is a Waning Gibbous. I could not see Orion today. I wonder why? I think it is because it is cloudy outside. Did you know the moon orbits around the Earth?

I can barely see the moon behind the trees. The moon looks like soon the waning gibbous stage will be done. The pattern is still going. It's weird how the moon looks flat from the earth.

    1. It sure is weird that the moon looks flat from the earth when it's really a sphere!

  17. It is November 10 at 9:30 P.M. I saw the moon as a waning gibbous. There were clouds around the moon. It so bright that it seemed like it was going to pop out at me. The clouds were light clouds instead of dark clouds. I tired to look for orion's belt but I couldn't see it.

  19. It is November 11 at 6:53. I saw the moon on the other side of the house this morning. The moon was still a waning gibbous. The moon travels around the Earth so it sets on the other side of the Earth. Did you know that the moon stays the same when it rotates the Earth?!

    1. I just read that this morning on the constellation app (Sky Guide) I suggested to the class! Did you know the reason is because "the earth also exerts tidal forces on the moon and over many millions of years, these tidal forces have gradually slowed down the moon's spin, locking one side to always face the earth."!! Wow, I can't believe we were both thinking about the same thing this morning; we were on the same "wave-length"!!!!
