November,8,2014.6:48.I can't see the moon, it's too cloudy. It's probably a full moon.Did you know that gibbous means swelling? So, waning and waxing gibbous means swelling moon.
I couldn't see the waning gibbous moon, either, Luc! I just looked up the meaning of gibbous, and this is what I found: gibbous |ˈgibəs| adjective (of the moon) having the observable illuminated part greater than a semicircle and less than a circle.
It is November 8, 6:30 PM 2014 today I could not see the moon. So it is starting out as a pattern. It is 100% unlikely that this pattern will go on for this hull month.
Today is November 8th at 7:29pm. The condition of the sky was cloudy but I could still see the hazy moon through the clouds. It was hard to tell that the moon phase was waning gibbous.
That is amazing that you saw the waning gibbous, Jasper! I just got in from trying to locate it and I didn't have much luck; maybe I will get a glimpse of it later on!

ReplyDeleteYes, Noah; it is even 1,000% unlikely that this pattern will continue! Be patient; maybe check again later tonight; that's my plan!

DeleteIt is November 8,2014 at 7:39 P.M. I can not see the moon out right now. I think it might be cloudy so that might be why I can't see the moon.
ReplyDeleteI just went outside to look for the moon, too; no luck on my end, either. I wonder if it will be more visible later on?
DeleteIt is November 8th,2014 at 8:30 P.M. It is really cloudy. Did you know that the moon causes ocean tides?
ReplyDeleteIsn't that amazing? During a strong storm, if the moon is in the full moon stage, there can be very intense waves.
DeleteIt is November8, 2014 8:50 pm.I saw the moon but it was very cloudy!
ReplyDeleteBy the time I saw the moon, it was less foggy, but there was a ring around the moon.

ReplyDeleteIt was there! I agree that it was foggy; there was a ring around the moon when I saw it!
DeleteToday is November 8, 2014 at 9:00 PM. I saw the waning gibbous moon through a thin layer of clouds. It almost looked like a full moon.
ReplyDeleteI saw the waning gibbous, too! You can see the part that is in a shadow!
