Yesterday November 12,at 11:30 my mom and my old babysitter Clara finally saw the moon. They took pictures of it for me. They said, " the sky was clear with many stars shining and it was a Waning Gibbous moon. The moon looked large but it looked like it was beginning to change." On the phone it even looked amazing!
It is November 13th at 7:32 a.m. I can't see the moon ;it is probably because the moon is about to set under my trees. Did you know that when the earth reflects the suns light to the dark side of the moon, that we will still see the dark side a little bit and that is called the "shinning earth."
Today is November 13th at 8:31am. The moonrise was past my bedtime so I am blogging today. Now the moon phase looks like a quarter moon but it is still a waning gibbous. The moon was really visible this morning!
It is November 13th at 5:55 p.m. It is really cloudy outside. Did you know that when the earth is aligned with the sun and when the earth's shadow is cast, that causes a lunar eclipse.
7:55 am The moon is a waning gibbous. It looks like it's tilted because there is a straight line going slanted down . I wonder if only half of the man on the moon is there.
It is November 13 at 6:32. I tried to look for constellations but I couldn't see them. The constellations were hiding from me tonight. It wasn't cloudy out tonight so I don't know why couldn't see the constellations. I hope I see them tomorrow!
Zach, according to the Lunar and Planetary Institute's website, "it takes our Moon about 29.5 days to complete one cycle of phases (from new Moon to new Moon)". It is cloudy out, so the visibility is poor. Maybe you'll see the quarter moon tomorrow.
Today is November 13, 2014 at 9:13 PM. I looked outside and I couldn't see anything. I will blog in the am if possible, but I know it is a 3rd quarter moon.
I could finally see the moon today. The cool part about seeing the moon today is that there were many different shades of white!
ReplyDeleteThat is right, Alex; it is a different kind of look!
DeleteToday is November 13. I saw the moon. It seemed very far, farther than usual. It looked like a half moon. It was 7:30 am. c
ReplyDeleteIt is in the quarter moon phase now!

ReplyDeleteI think the whole sky is covered in one very big cloud; that might be why you can't see anything. Maybe tomorrow we will se the quarter moon.
DeleteI looked out side this morning and I couldn't see the moon because of the cloud coverage. I hope I see it tomorrow!
DeleteIt is November 6th at 6:39pm. the only stat i saw was the dog star. but did you know that it takes 21 days for a full moon cycle

ReplyDeleteThe cloud coverage might prevent us from seeing much, but maybe the sky will clear up by tomorrow!
DeleteNovember 13, 2014 7:55pm
ReplyDeleteI can't see anything tonight but i'm going to blog In the morning.
The morning is a better time to check for the moon while it is in this phase.
DeleteI did not see the moon.I could see perseus hydra, and canis minor, and leo the lion.
ReplyDeleteWow, Justin; you found many great constellations!
DeleteToday is November 13, 2014 at 9:13 PM. I looked outside and I couldn't see anything. I will blog in the am if possible, but I know it is a 3rd quarter moon.
