  3. Tonight, March 22, at 8:02, the moon's phase was a waxing gibbous. The moon is 99% illuminated because tonight is the night before the next full moon, tomorrow on March 23rd. The moon looked exactly like it had looked when I saw it yesterday, except, it was more yellowish I thought tonight. Tonight some constellations I saw were: Orion, Cassiopeia, Cepheus, and the brightest star in the night sky, Sirius the dog star which is the nose of Orion's hunting dog, Canis Major.

  11. Today I saw the moon at 8 p.m. and it was almost a full moon. Today is the last day of the Waxing Gibbons moon(99.8% illuminated) before the full moon shows tomorrow. Today the moon was right next to Jupiter. Hydra, the sea serpent, is the largest and longest constellation and it is to the south of Leo. I think I saw the only bright star of Hydra called Alphard, known as "Solitary One". I also saw Sextans, Leo Minor, Orion, and Jupiter.
Cool fact - a 95% illuminated moon (even just 2.5 days before and after the full moon) appears half as bright as a new moon.
